Sweet Sunsets
“There's a sunrise and a sunset every single day, and they're absolutely free. Don't miss so many of them.” - Jo Walton
Set the Scene
Set your alarm so you have enough time to grab your favourite person and your pre-packed bag to go see one of the most simplest yet astoundingly beautiful things in life.... a sunset.
Lie back on a warm rug on the grass and watch the clouds change colour while listening to the sounds of nature and sharing your dreams and stories with one another.
Snuggle into each other with a cosy blanket on your favourite park bench with hot drinks and feel yourselves totally relax as the day comes to an end and you remember that the simple things in life are sometimes the best.
Helpful Hints: Your pre-packed bag can be filled with all sorts of goodies. Some ideas are a hot thermostat full of your favourite hot drink to keep you warm in the evening air. A blanket so snuggle up in and mittens in case your Date gets cold. Romantic music and portable mini speakers, and some scrumptious biscuits to nibble on and dip into your drinks.

Where to go
If you don't have transport then go for a walk to your nearest park and sit together on a park bench with a blanket and a hot thermostat full of hot chocolate for the two of you and enjoy the peacefulness in the air as the evening begins.
For the best view of Christchurch 's stunning Sunsets, go in the direction of the Port Hills or Victoria Park.
Drive up to either place and find a place to park where you can see the Sun gently descend.
On the Port Hills, The Sign of the Kiwi is one of the car-parks which gives you a beautiful view of the entire City and if it's chilly outside you can still see it from the Car.
If you'd like to go a step further and experience the Sunset at its fullest, leave the car and climb up one of the Tracks to a place where you can sit on the Hill away from the world and see the colours of the sky change around you.
In Victoria Park, walk from the car-park up to where the giant slide is and go over it to the field of grass where you can see an 180 degree view of the City. This spot is perfect for lying in the long grass with a blanket while the Sun goes down.
