Evening Picnic Ideas
Make your Evening Picnic one to be remembered forever with a few extra touches
It's all About LightsLights make an atmosphere and create an ambience that can be romantic, magical and warm.
Whether you are cosying up to an outdoor fire (in a safe area), lying on a rug on top of a hill, or wrapped in blankets on a wharf by the cool night water there is always ways to include romantic lights. Tea light candles that are battery operated are a genius invention. You can get them from $2 shops and they don't catch fire, or blow out in the wind! Buy 10 or more depending on how dramatic you want it to look, and scatter them around the picnic or make a path for your date to follow. Solar Fairy Lights are spectacular, great for outdoors and no batteries needed. Charge them up in the sunlight and they'll be perfect for the evening effect. If you're in a garden, cover the trees or plants with them and create a magical world. There are so many things you can do with lights, whether its hanging lanterns from trees on a string, or putting candles in glass jars and making a path, you really can't go wrong! |
Keeping it CosyPlan ahead so that your Date is kept warm and cosy for the whole of the Picnic.
Bring cushions and blankets to snuggle into, and make it look inviting as you place everything around. Prepare your Hot Flask and make a delicious hot chocolate or coffee to take with you as the night cools down. If you know that your Date especially feels the cold then one great idea is to buy some reusable heat pads that once you activate, can last for an hour or two. If its safe to do so, take a small camping gas cooker to boil hot drinks, cook up a comforting winter soup or toast soft marshmallows dip into chocolate sauce! |
